CASA Announces Next Training

CASA Announces Next Training
CASA of South Central KY is excited to announce its next New Advocate Training!
The training will be held in May/June.
The training is a total of 30 hours, and that is mandated by the National CASA organization. Previously the format was all 30 hours in a classroom setting. But now, National CASA offers a new format. It is still 30 hours, but only 15 hours are in the classroom. The other 15 hours are done in a self-guided online learning environment. That lets people do half of the course at home on their own schedule, sitting around in their PJs if they want. We hope this encourages more folks to volunteer as it is more flexible for their schedules. Plus, we are doing the 15 classroom hours over 5 evenings, so it hopefully won’t be a work conflict. See the included flyer image for the exact dates and times for the classroom component. The classroom portion will be held in Bowling Green, the exact location to be announced.
In addition to the new format, CASA has expanded! We now serve Allen, Barren, Edmonson, Hart, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren counties. This makes CASA of South Central KY the third largest CASA program in Kentucky. And with more growth comes the need for more Volunteers! So please consider giving some of your time to abused and neglected children in our community!
